The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model is dry and wet. It comes with the upgraded AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which gives enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. The system uses dual laser LiDAR, which is similar to that used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan an area that is up to 32 feet by 360 degrees. This results in more precise mapping, faster response time, and greater cleaning accuracy.

It also features an adjustable mopping pad made of chenille fabric, which makes it much easier to scrub difficult areas than traditional mop. In my testing, the X2 Omni took just over an hour to clean its pad before getting to work, and I noticed that it was much more accurate than the previous models, which seemed to follow a gridded route around rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms, as well as make "Zambani patterns" across the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station on a regular basis to empty the trash bin and clean the mop with hot water before starting another task of cleaning.

The X2 Omni is as easy to use and set up as other Ecovacs products. Snap the dock into position, plug it in and pair it with your WiFi network at home. It only takes a few minutes. Then, you can start the app and get started with your first task of cleaning. I was able customize my floor plan in about 15 minutes. This included creating restricted areas for mopping and sweeping and rearranging the layout of wall-mounted furniture and more. The X2 Omni performed admirably in my tests. It scored high in the areas of pet hair removal as well as debris removal, and also was near-perfect in its results for edge and crevices cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

If you need a powerful combination of vacuuming and mopping then check out the EcoVACS Deebot T10 Omni. It is the most advanced model of the brand's T-line, and features the latest OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system which uses dual-spinning brushes for better cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbing. It also comes with YIKO integrated, a first-of-its kind natural language processing tech that lets it respond to a variety of voice commands. You can make use of the ECOVACS app to map your home, set up cleaning schedules and adjust settings.

The T10 Omni's biggest flaw is that it's unable to switch from mopping and vacuuming in one run. Both modes require that you attach and take off the mop heads as needed which is great for most homes but not suitable for people who lead busy lives.

The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that delivers impressive results. It was able to remove more than 96% of the debris we tossed at it our hardwood flooring, which is an outstanding performance. It was a success on tiles and carpets, removing 99percent of dirt.

This robot vacuum and mop has large docking systems that allows for automatic cleaning using cool mop pads. It also features an auto-emptying 3L bag that's easy to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also has a huge water tank that permits frequent washing and drying between mopping runs.

As with other mopping robots like the Deebot T10 Omni, it features a wash tray in its base that cleans and dries its mop pads as it uses them. It does not have a removable tray so dirt, dust and other grime will slowly build up in the bottom.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

While Anker-owned Eufy is well known in the field of robot vacuums, this model is its first foray into the world of mopping. It has enhanced intelligence with multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts for the type of surface you're cleaning. It's a mid-range cleaner that's attractive, even if its promise of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning does not make sense.

The X8 Hybrid appears to be a standard robotic cleaner from the top. It has a circular form, sweeping wheels, and an elevated sensor. Flip it over, however, and you'll find a motorised floor brush plus one side sweeper brush that carries dirt from the edges into the main path of the robot's mouth. It's a little smaller than the main brushes on the rival iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to access under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system allows you to set up no-mop areas and specific cleaning zones. It is prone to hitting things, including its own charging station, and isn't the best robot vacuum for dog hair at navigating over carpets. It was good at collecting pet hair off carpets. In our tests, it picked up 89.5 percent of kitty litter.

The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, but it also has a set of physical buttons at its base. These buttons let you choose a cleaning mode or turn the robot off/on. These buttons can be used to create zones that are not allowed to be visited and to view real-time maps. It's a bit chatty, and will tell you what it plans to do next ("start cleaning") or warn you that something is wrong (it doesn't have enough power to charge, for instance).

4. ILIFE A4s

This model is high-tech and sucks up pet hair, kibble and other particles with top-quality efficiency and maneuvers flawlessly around furniture legs. It also comes with an impressive feature set that includes two cleaning modes, a self-emptying dock, and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. The Wi-Fi enabled device can be operated via the Neato App which schedules cleanings and maintenance requirements are tracked. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for homes that have a carpet, hard carpet and flooring, however it requires some advance planning to avoid getting stuck by toys, power cords or other obstacles that might be unexpected.

The robot performed well during our tests on hardwood floors and kibble. It picked up everything from a single rice grain to several pet food pieces in only one sweep. It had some difficulties transitioning to rugs but in general this vacuum cleaner is perfect for rooms that have flooring of all kinds and a variety of pets.

It's a bit expensive however, if you are able to manage the price, this is a great option for those who wish to be able to leave their homes completely free to perform other tasks or to take care of chores. This budget-friendly robot from a popular new brand is the most affordable we've ever tested, and provides exceptional value for money. Its navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm, and it's not able to map rooms. This is why it's less effective than other models in this list. It's still able to get under furniture and into the corners. And its mopping mode was very effective in our tests and picked up hairs that were straying and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ isn't as well-built as the Roomba S9, but it does a better job overall in getting rid of pet hair on all surfaces. It is more effective of cleaning carpets with low piles and bare floors. It also uses intelligent-pathing navigational software to improve maneuverability. It can be directed to a specific location, and comes with a range of advanced automation features including no-go zones and schedules. It can even stop and restart cleaning sessions, so it's perfect for households with pets.

Its self cleaning brushroll prevents knots and holds up to 30 day's worth of dirt. It also comes with a set of angled side brushes that go deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system can capture dust, dander, and allergens for cleaner air.

The robot vacuum feels sturdy and well-constructed, and it has a smartphone app that lets you change the settings for your vacuum and plan cleaning sessions ahead of time. The app lets you see the remaining battery life of the iQ and receive push notifications in the event of any issues during the cleaning session. You can control it with your voice using an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices you can mark the boundaries of your area with physical boundary lines.

The iQ is great for cleaning floors that aren't clean and does an adequate job with shaggy and low-pile carpets. However it's not able to provide the same level of autonomy as our top choices. It is also expensive and its recurring cost can increase.
