iRobot Combo Review

Combo is the first mop-and-vacuum robot, and is the most stylish model from the company. The brushed aluminum top and iRobot Logo are more elegant than the blatant designs of competitors.

You can use the iRobot Home app to set up and guide your robot. The app tracks usage data and maps of your home, which include furniture and obstacles. Maps and image data is only shared with iRobot when you sign up.

It's not a mop.

The Combo Irobot, a highly smart mopping robot, has all the intelligence of the superb Roomba J7+ and adds a water reservoir onboard and a small pad for mopping and a robot arm which can lift and lower the pad. It can complete quite a bit of work in 111 minutes before running out of juice and automatically returning to its base station to recharge.

The combo model includes the iRobot Home app, so you can initiate or stop cleaning runs. The robot is also stylish, with matte black material that doesn't show fingerprints or dust and a brushed aluminum top part with small irobot sale Logo.

It is a great vacuum cleaner and is able to cross over large carpets or the transition strips between flooring surfaces. It can even pick-up fine dust that other robotic vacuum for allergies vacuums don't. However, it's not so good in the field of mow. It won't remove dried milk stains unless you send it a few times.

iRobot's dedicated Braava Jet M6 mopping machine, which is available as an assortment with the j7 Plus often for less than the price of the combo Combo is much more effective in this and other difficult jobs. It can even suck up ketchup and wine spills, though I'd advise against using it in the presence of liquid that has a high sugar content.

It's a vacuum

It's also one of the most attractive robot vacuums, with a smooth and sleek top piece that doesn't show dust and fingerprints as easily as other models. The small dustbin and water tank of this robot vacuum are easy to open, however they are not the biggest. The Combo J7+ comes with all the smarts that you'd expect from iRobot. This includes maps and obstacle avoidance maps that work reliably and quickly. The mopping arm is the thing that makes this model stand out in its category. It keeps the mop pad hidden in the top of the vacuum, however, when it detects the need to mop a surface, it lowers the pad beneath and behind the robot. This is a major upgrade over other robot vacuums which require you to remove the mop pads to clean hard floors or carpets manually. You can even shut off the entire unit for mopping.

It's a charging station

When you're ready to charge your Combo irobot, just place it on the charging station and align its metal contacts with the ones on the base. The charging station is easy to set up and operates well. During my tests it took only a few seconds to charge, and then it made an audible sound when it was finished. After the Combo robot is charged, you can begin a mapping run on the app to help the robot better understand your home. The app also lets you to mark certain objects as permanent avoidances, such as lamp cords. You can also connect Alexa or Google Assistant to your robot so that you can use the voice commands to navigate around the house.

It's a smart device
