iRobot Combo Review

Combo is the first mop by irobot deals and vacuum robot. It's also its best-looking. Its aluminum top piece brushed and iRobot logo are more sophisticated than the loud designs of competitors.

The iRobot Home application is used to guide and configure your robot. The app collects usage data and maps of your home, which include obstacles and furniture. Maps and images are only shared with iRobot if you opt-in.

It's a mop

The combo irobot (www.robotvacuummops.com) is a very smart mopping robot that takes all the features of the great Roomba j7+ and adds an on-board water reservoir, a tiny mopping pad, and a nifty robot arm that lifts and lowers the pad. It can accomplish a good deal of work in just 111 minutes, before it gets power cut off and returns to its base station to recharge.

The model with the combo also comes with the iRobot home app, meaning you can initiate and stop cleaning runs. It's also a good-looking robot, sporting matte black plastic that does not show fingerprints or dust and a brushed aluminum top piece with the small iRobot logo.

It is a fantastic tool of vacuuming and has no problem crossing over large area rugs and transition strips between flooring surfaces. It is able to pick up fine dust that other robotic vacuums fail to pick up. However, it's not great in the field of mow. It's not able to completely eliminate dried milk stains, for instance unless you send it out four or five times.

IRobot's dedicated Braava jet M6 mopping robotic cleaner, often available in a bundle along with the j7 plus for less than the combo Combo is a superior job at this and other difficult jobs. It can also remove ketchup and wine spills, however I wouldn't recommend it to be used after any liquids with a high amount of sugar.

It's a vacuum

It's one of the more attractive robot vacuums. The top of the piece is smooth and doesn't show dirt or fingerprints as easily as some competitors. Its tiny water tank and dustbin are easy to close and open but they're not the greatest in terms of capacity. The Combo j7+ has all the smarts that you'd expect from irobot floor cleaner. This includes maps and obstacle avoidance maps that function efficiently and quickly. The mopping arm is the thing that makes this model stand out in its category. The mop pad is placed on top of the robot vacuum. However, when it detects a surface which requires mopping the pad is moved underneath and behind the robotic vacuum. This is a huge upgrade from other robot vacuums that require users to manually remove the mop pad to clean carpets and hard floors, or even turn the entire machine off to mop.

It's an electric charging station

When you're ready to charge your Combo irobot, just place it on the changing station and align its metal contacts with those on the base. The charging station is reliable and is easy to put in. In my tests, it took the robot a few moments to charge, and then it made noise when completed. When the Combo robot is charged, you can begin an exploration run in the app to help the robot understand your home. You can also mark specific objects, such as cords for lamps, as permanent avoidances in the app. You can also connect Alexa or Google Assistant to your robot to allow voice commands for it to navigate around your home.

It's a smart device

Combo irobots utilize acoustic and onboard sensors to discover the type of floor it's encountering and the objects that are in your home. This information is then combined with images from the robot's onboard camera and maps of your home to create an individual plan to clean each room. This makes it intelligent enough to avoid your sofa, lamp cords and other objects you want to keep intact. Of course, like any other connected device there are concerns regarding the security of this information. iRobot, however, says that it will never sell any customer data and that no images are taken without the consent of the customers.
