BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost utilizes the data bus CAN to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from putting in an additional key or replacing the ECU to bypass your security system since it requires a valid PIN code to start the engine.

It is hooked up to the BMW's CAN data network and is programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code that can be accessible through buttons in your car. Service Mode / Valet Mode

It also lets you take the car to the garage for repairs, maintenance etc without worrying about it being tampered with or stolen by a mechanic while you wait.

Once the valet or service mode is activated it will stop your BMW from being able to be driven after it has been started. This prevents anyone from attempting to test drive it whilst you are away. When you return, the vehicle will revert to normal and will not be tampered or stolen again.

Anti-Hijack

Ghost created this subtle, unobtrusive device to combat the increasing sophistication of hi-tech thieves. It is designed to stop thieves from adding an ignition key or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive off. Ghost connects to your CAN data network and uses the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel, centre console and door panels) to create an individual push sequence that needs to be completed before the engine can be started.

Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated, any attempt to restart the engine will be stopped. The system will hone the horn and flash the indicators. It will also stop the vehicle in the event that the code cannot be found. The Anti-Hijack feature can be removed by entering your push sequence, or by entering service mode which allows your vehicle to start and drive without having to enter your PIN.

If you own an GPS device connected to your BMW it could be used to disable the Anti-Hijack feature so you can still use the navigation system in your car when the vehicle is parked unattended. If you own a smartphone, you can also connect it to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack function and other functions.

Remote Control

We can connect your Ghost device to your mobile app for remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This is useful when mechanics or valets need to start your car and you have to be somewhere other where. The system allows you to turn your vehicle on by selecting drive and then leave service mode without having your key fobs. You can also track your vehicle's location on an interactive map on your smartphone.

The Ghost can be installed in the dashboard area, or within the centre console. It is completely hidden, tamperproof, and doesn't require any additional wiring. The device is connected to the CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to Ethernet cable) and a personal pin code is programmed into it. The pin code has to be entered before the vehicle starts. This prevents thieves from using a cloned key or replacing the ECU in order to bypass this system.

If the vehicle is stolen in any way, the Ghost will go into a service mode that disables all functions unless a PIN code is entered or you utilize the mobile app to disable it. This feature was created to safeguard your vehicle from high-tech thieves who are using relay boxes to steal your vehicle.
