BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost utilizes the data bus CAN to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or adding new locks to bypass the security system.

The Ghost is unique to other immobilisers because it doesn't use key-fobs or LED indicators. Instead it uses the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to enter a specific disarm sequence that only you know.

Stop & Start

If you've been in a BMW or used its stop-start feature you might have noticed that the engine continues to run for 30 seconds after you have released the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system continuously monitoring your vehicle for a signal from the ignition key, and if it is detected, it will keep running. Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a next-generation device, does not require you to cut OEM wires or install aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is hooked up to your BMW's CAN data network and is programmed with a secure, unique PIN code which is accessed using buttons installed in your car. This allows you to enter key sequences that are not available in the normal media menus. For example the volume up/down button, or source controls, cruise control, air conditioning and more. The PIN can range between 4 and 20 numbers and is therefore difficult for thieves to guess or break.

In addition, we can also add a service or valet mode to the system. This is activated when your car is being serviced so that the Ghost is hidden from the garage. You can do this by pressing the service button five times on your infotainment unit (the system will flash with confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically re-arm when you return.

Service / Valet Mode

If you're at home and in a meet and greet situation when you are at a meet and greet, the Ghost can be put into service mode which allows you to start your vehicle using your keys normally, however it stops the engine from running again unless the proper code is entered. This is ideal for customers who need to hand their vehicles over to valet companies or other trusted friends and family members. This allows you to take your car to the garage for maintenance and maintenance, etc. without fearing that it will be tampered with by mechanics while you wait.

Once the service / valet mode is activated, it will block your BMW from being driven when it is first started. This stops anyone from attempting to test drive it whilst you are away. When you return, it will return to normal driving, stopping your car from being damaged or stolen once again.

Anti-Hijack

The Anti-Hijack feature can be disabled by entering your push sequence, or by enabling service mode, which allows your vehicle to start and drive without having to enter your PIN.

We can connect your Ghost device to your mobile application for remote control of keyless go and start functionality. This is useful when a valet or mechanic has to start your car and you need to go somewhere and not in the vicinity. The system will allow you to turn the vehicle on, select drive and leave service mode without having keys. You can also track your vehicle on a map in real-time on your smartphone.

The Ghost can be placed under the dashboard or within the center console. It is completely hidden and tamperproof and does not require any extra wiring. The device is connected to the vehicles CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personal PIN code is programmed into it. The pin code needs to be chosen before the engine starts. This stops thieves from gaining access to the system with the cloned or replaced ECU.

If the vehicle is stolen in any way, the Ghost will enter a security mode and shut down all functions unless the PIN code is entered or you make use of the mobile app to dearm it. This is a feature that was created to safeguard your vehicle from high tech criminals who are using relay boxes to steal your car.
