BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the CAN data bus for communication with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or installing an additional lock to circumvent the security system.

The Ghost is different from other immobilisers as it doesn't use key fobs or LED indicators. It makes use of the buttons on your vehicle to let you enter a unique disarming sequence that only you know.

Stop & Start

If you've previously driven a brand new BMW or used the stop-start feature, you may have noticed that after stopping the engine will continue to continue to run for around 30 seconds after releasing the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system continuing to monitor your vehicle for a signal from the ignition key, and if it is detected, it will continue to run. The Autowatch 2 Ghost immobiliser prevents this from happening by stopping the car whenever you push a button sequence.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser is a revolutionary next-generation device that does not require cutting OEM wires or adding an aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network and is programmed with an unique PIN code that can be accessed by buttons in your car. This allows you to enter the key sequences which aren't available in the normal media menus. For instance, volume up/down or source cruise control, air conditioning and more. The PIN could be between 4 and 20 digits, so it is extremely difficult for thieves to figure out or crack.

In addition, we can also add a service / valet mode to the system, this is activated when your vehicle is in for servicing so that the Ghost is not visible to the garage. You can activate this mode by pressing the service button five times on your infotainment device (the system will flash with confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically re-arm when you return.

Service / Valet Mode

The Ghost is the leading immobiliser available. It protects your vehicle from being stolen by hacking or key cloning. It utilizes the factory buttons on your vehicle to create a unique sequence of pushes that only you know. It is similar to pin code security for your mobile phone. It's incredibly secure, discreet and deterrence for even the most determined thieves!

When parked at your home or in a meet and greet when you are at a meet and greet, the ghost 11 immobiliser can be set to service mode. This lets you start the vehicle using your keys, but stops the engine from restarting until the correct code has been entered. This is ideal for customers who have to hand their vehicles over to valet companies or other trusted friends and family members. This lets you take your car to the garage for maintenance or repairs, etc. without having to worry that it will be altered by a mechanic while you are waiting.

When the service/valet mode is activated when the service/valet mode is enabled, your BMW will not be able to drive after it has been started. This prevents anyone else from attempting to drive it while you are away. When you return, it will be back to normal stopping your vehicle from being damaged or stolen again.

We can mount the Ghost to any BMW all you require is the correct keys since the device does not use the original remotes and can be used in conjunction with them. Anti-Hijack

With the advent of high-tech thieves becoming increasingly advanced, the security technology has to improve, which is why Ghost has created this discrete and unobtrusive immobiliser. It's designed to stop thieves from putting in a key or replacing the ECU to start your car and drive it off. Ghost is connected to your CAN network and utilizes buttons on your vehicle to generate a unique push-sequence that must be entered before the engine can be started.

If the anti-hijacking mode has been activated and the engine is restarted, any attempt to restart the engine will be blocked. If the system detects that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, in case it fails to locate the correct code, it will also stop the engine (where possible). By entering your push sequence, or entering service mode, you can deactivate the Anti-Hijack feature. This allows your vehicle to start temporarily without entering a PIN.

If you own an GPS device connected to your BMW it is possible to utilize it to disable the Anti-Hijack function to allow you to use your navigation system while the vehicle is stationary. If you own a smart-phone, you can also hook it to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack feature and other functions.

Remote Control

We can connect the Ghost device to your mobile app to enable remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This can be useful when mechanics or valets need to start your car, but you need to go somewhere and not in the vicinity. The system allows you to turn your vehicle on, select drive and quit service mode without needing keys. You can also track your vehicle's location on the map in real-time using your smartphone.

The Ghost can be installed in the dashboard area, or within the centre console. It is completely concealed and secure, and doesn't require any additional wiring. The device is connected to CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to Ethernet cable) and a unique pin code is inserted into it. This pin code must be selected prior to the vehicle's start. This will prevent thieves from gaining access to the system with a cloned or replaced ECU.

If your vehicle is taken away, the Ghost will enter service mode and disable all functions until you have the PIN code or the mobile application to disable it. This feature was developed to safeguard your vehicle from thieves with high-tech equipment who employ relay boxes to steal it. This will prevent thieves from using mobile phones to turn on your sat-nav or mp3 players to locate your vehicle!

Ghost can also stop the 'Relay-style Frequency amplification'. This is the most frequent method of stealing a vehicle using a keyfob that's cloned, or stolen through hacking. Ghost can help you avoid this by installing an anti-theft device in your vehicle called Secure-A-Key. The device is installed inside the key fob of your car and shuts off its battery after a few inactive minutes. This can be accomplished using the most modern PKE keys.
