It's a great option for busy households. You can easily install the Roomba j7+ using the iRobot Home app and start your first cleaning session.

The app guides you through setting up Wi-Fi and the process is straightforward, though I had to install the most recent version of software on my phone to allow it to work. After a few prompts the app asks permission to connect with other devices on your network. It then locates your new robot. It is important to update your app regularly because it includes updates for all your iRobot products.

The j7+ can do the rest. It will create an image of your area in just 20 minutes. It can vacuum or mop on any type of floor with precision. Its smart sensor system can detect hardwood floors and carpets and will choose the appropriate mode. It also is aware of how to use the power and side brushes, which helps to prevent knots.

For my test I used the J7+ to clean the family room, entryway and kitchen area with hard floors and area rug. It also cleaned hallways with carpets and two bedrooms upstairs. The j7+ was able to clean each room thoroughly, taking away everything from pet fur, daily dirt, to popcorn and crumbs during movie night. It's also quiet, generating just 60 decibels of noise. That's about the same volume as a normal conversation, and less than what the CDC recommends for loud levels.

The j7+'s most notable feature is its obstacle recognition feature, which can identify pet waste and charging cables, shoes, and various toys. You can program j7+ so it doesn't enter certain areas or objects. In my tests the J7+ was able detect and avoid all obstacles.

The iRobot j7+ is among the most expensive robotic vacuums and mops on the market, yet it is a great value and can keep your to-do list short. Its high-tech technology and suction power are unbeatable.

Roomba S9+

The Roomba s9+ robot vacuum is the first irobot roomba models robot vacuum to utilize "Perfect Edge Technology" which enables it to reach closer to edges and corners. It also has a smaller design, which makes it less intimidating than other robotic vacuums. Its svelte body is black, with the lid opening in rose gold to let you dump and clean. The controls are located on the sides rather than in the middle as with other models, and it's a bit shorter than competitors like the Neato Botvac D7.

The s9+ has powerful suction that's 40 times more powerful than the previous generation model. It also has a compact brush design that is supposed to help take on more debris in one pass. In my tests it cleaned up 95% of Cheerios on carpets and 90% of them on hardwood. It did, however, smash a few pieces of hard cereal that sent them flying across the floor.

The intuitive app makes it easy to use and set up the S9+. You can schedule cleaning appointments, decide which rooms to clean, and even use voice commands using Alexa or Google Assistant. The app allows you to check your cleaning status as well as battery life.

When the s9+ is done, it returns to its base, which also doubles as an charging station and a dirt bin. Its dust bin can be easily cleaned and replaced, and is smaller than its competitors' size. You can buy another dustbin to keep in the bottom for additional cleaning.

The s9+ also has the ability to work in tandem with irobot roomba for pets's Braava jet M6 mopping bot. This is done through irobot roomba pet series's Imprint Link Technology, which allows them to communicate with one other and share information. The s9+ docks its Clean Base when it finishes vacuuming and then informs Braava that it is now ready to mop. This combination is perfect for cleaning large areas that are messy such as the playroom after the celebration of a birthday. It's also a great option to clean up spills or sticky areas. This robot is a great addition to any household.

Shark's AI Ultra

The Shark AI Ultra is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop that combine powerful whole-home vacuuming and mopping with sonics to ensure a thorough clean of hard floors. It has an enormous self-emptying container that can hold debris for up to 60 days, meaning you don't have to empty it frequently. It also has superior obstacle detection compared to other robots, allowing it to avoid obstacles like furniture and pet hair. However there are some users who have reported that the base fills up fast and doesn't go to waste as quickly as advertised.

The AI Ultra navigation system maps your home using 360-degree LIDAR. It creates an app that lets you set up rooms as "No-Go Zones" and then creates a detailed map of your home. It's also able to move around objects and stay within the limits of your home even in dark places. The mop also comes with UltraClean which cleans your floor up to 50 percent faster than traditional mopping.

Its navigational systems are a big step up from Shark's previous designs. These include the IQ, EZ, and ION. It features a precise matrix grid that covers the entire room in multiple passes, so it will never miss anything. It is small enough to fit under couches and tables, and can climb over electrical cords or rugs without getting stuck.

The Ultra is a little more expensive than the RoborockQ5+ (9/10 from WIRED) It has a higher capacity for dirt and is more easy to maintain. It's also compatible with an automatic dock that emptys and does a better task of maneuvering itself. It also has a more powerful vacuum motor, and is less likely to be lost in dense carpeting. However, despite its advantages, I still prefer the IQ robot vacuum cleaner since it comes with an energy-efficient battery that can last for an extended time and a self-emptying container and a superior navigation system. Shark's AI ultra is a great choice to get an affordable vacuum. It's cleaner and has a longer battery life and is more comfortable to use. It costs $50 less than the Q5. However, if you're looking for an automatic bin that can be empty I'd suggest the Roborock.

Braava Jet M6

The Braava Jet M6 is most advanced mopping machine from iRobot. It uses a precision jet spray to dissolve the sticky residues of kitchen grease and spills without causing damage to furniture or rugs. It can also remove pet stains and tough dirt and make your floors look like new. It is an automated cleaner that can be set to start or stop its job whenever you want and works with smart home devices, such as Google assistant or Alexa.

The m6 is easy to install. Plug the mop in to its base station and then fill its tank with water. Then download the iRobot app and follow the steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi network. Once connected, m6 will be able to begin cleaning. Press one of the three buttons on the unit to start cleaning, or use the app. The m6 is also able to be recharged automatically if its battery is low and continue to work until the task is completed. It also comes with Keep Out Zones that let you make it aware that it is not allowed to be near certain areas, for example the space around a dog's bedding.

Unlike most vacuum cleaners, the m6 requires very little energy to operate. It only requires power to spray water, move around your home and maintain a wireless connection. In my tests, even a thorough mopping session lasting two hours didn't deplete the battery.

The m6 has three pre-set mopping modes to choose from: standard mode balances cleaning power and surface coverage, while deep mode focuses more on stubborn dirt and extended coverage mode mop larger areas in less time. You can also customize the settings of your m6 using the iRobot App. You can design your own custom schedule which is activated by other smart devices.

The m6 uses the latest vSLAM navigation technology to map your home and guide it into neat rows. It will clean every inch of your floor. It is small and compact and can fit in between and around furniture. It has never gotten stuck or snagged within my home and the batteries aren't running low. You can control the robot using an iRobot App or via voice if you have a Google Assistant or Alexa device.
