Lever/Pad

Lever pad door handles consist of an elongated lever handle on one side and a paddle-shaped handle on the other. These are designed for use with key wind locks. However they can also be attached to multipoint split spindle door locks.

It is essential that when choosing the new set of upvc lever pad handles, they are in line with the PZ (distance from the spindle of the handle to the center of the hole of the cylinder) of your multipoint door locks. This is because these are required to be aligned so that the doors remain locked, regardless of whether you are looking from the inside or outside. If you want to upgrade to dual spindle levers you will need to remove the handles that are currently in use and then take apart the lock case. This will require an extra split inline cylinder. You can purchase these separately. We have included a technical diagram in the images of each product.

Lever/Lever

To repair a door handle lever that is sagging you'll need to locate the detent access pin or hole. It's typically a small hole or protruding ring, or rectangle, found on the handle base plate. Once you've located it, you can loosen the set screw with the help of a screwdriver, and then remove it to release the lever and return it to the horizontal position.

When the handle is in a horizontal orientation, you can re-install the screws and tighten them to make sure the handle remains fixed to the base plate. It is also recommended to apply an adhesive that locks the threads of the screw to increase the grip and stop them from loosing over time.

There are many reasons why lever door handles slide. The most frequent reason is that the fixings have been too tightened, and are putting pressure on the bearings of the lever, causing it to bind against the door's face. It could also be because the levers are not being operated in a straight line and this is compressing the latch mechanism, preventing it from fully springing back into service.

The most common reason for a sprung lever not working properly is the spring not being in the correct position on the backplate. To determine whether the handle has returned to horizontal, simply operate it.

If the door handles aren't tight, it is essential to spot the issue fast, as this could lead to excessive wear on the screws and eventually to the handle falling off of the base plate. It is recommended to tighten all screws that are loose regularly in order to prevent them from becoming loose.

Lever/Snib
