The handles on your doors wear out over time and need to be replaced. In this case, it is important that the new handles are in line with the exact dimensions of the handle that was previously used.

The lever that springs is adjustable to fit a broad range of locks. This is especially useful for doors with narrower frames, where the cylinder is further back. A shorter lever can be used for doors that have a latch that can be opened by the thumb inside.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle is different from the lever uvpc window handles found on most doors. These handle types are either operated by a single spindle or by two spindles, either inline or offset. They are usually utilized on upvc replacement window handles doors with double glazing. They are available in a variety of finishes & variations.

The handles have been tested to the minimum of 200,000 cycles and are available in a variety of finishes like White and Silver, as well as Chrome & Gold. The finish meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high level of durability and performance for the intended use.

All of the UPVC lever pad styles for handles are supplied with screws and a spindle that allow them to be put on any new or existing uPVC door. When you have the right PZ size you will then have to ensure that the lever pads and push pads are of a appropriate shape to accommodate the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) approved handles you require for your doors. They are typically round or square with an internal lever, and an external push pad.

Most of the UPVC lever pads that we sell are sprung, meaning that they will return to their horizontal position when not in use, instead of hanging out and potentially sticking in the frame. This prevents drafts and cold air from entering a property. The majority of UPVC lever pad handles are available in left and right handed models that allow them to be put on either side of doors.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are typically used on uPVC doors, but can also be found on other types of doors. They operate by using a key to unlock a cylinder case that then reveals pins which can be aligned to those inside the lock body, allowing them to turn a revolving cam, thus opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins. Internal and external doors require different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is essential; it is contingent on how your doors and handle are used. Doors that are external, for instance should be equipped with cylinders that are more secure, whereas doors inside can be secured with a standard cylinder. Certain cylinders come with extra features that increase security, such as anti drill or anti bump properties.

A euro cylinder should be properly measured to ensure that it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the hole for fixing screws in the middle to the end of the cylinder and the thumb turn if you have one. If you cannot measure with the lock in position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon could be vulnerable to attacks, such as snapping locks, therefore it is essential that it is not too long.

The design of most newer cylinders includes anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce attack chances by forcing the cylinders to turn in a different direction. This can deflect the attack, and keep your door safe.

There are cylinders that have been constructed to resist snapping. This is a growing method of attack on cylinders where the break line inside the lock is targeted by a tool that is specially designed to snap off the front of the cylinder and allow the door to open. This is a lot faster and easier to achieve than opening the door with multipoint locks. It also leaves little evidence of a burglary, which can impede the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned in the base of the door handle backplate providing a sprung solution that returns the multipoint lock handles back to their original position after usage. There was a time when handles did not have a spring built into them, and without it they can droop or drop once the locking window handle mechanism is disengaged. This simple feature is one of the best methods to correct this, and is an effective way to keep your doors made of upvc from getting stuck in either closed or open position, as they aren't always easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes have been specifically designed for use with multipoint locks sprung They will not work with non-sprung multipoint handles. You will need to have a bespoke hole cut into your backplate to allow these to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for broken or missing cassettes in the backplates of door handles of numerous brands of uPVC doors. They are available as a single unit. They feature a square cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.
