Inline Lever/Lever

A lever handle or lever is a contemporary door handle designed to work with new or replacement doors. This type door handle is available in a wide range of styles and finishes. A variety of manufacturers provide this handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

The lever that is sprung can be cut to fit the widest range of locks. This is useful for doors with narrower openings where the cylinder is situated further back from the door. Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles that are commonly found on doors. These handles are operated by a single spindle or by two spindles inline or offset. The choice of cylinder is crucial. It's dependent on the type of use your doors and handles receive. External doors, for example, should be fitted with higher security cylinders while doors inside can be secured using the standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders come with additional features that increase security further, such as anti-drill or anti-bump features.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it must be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to the end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. It is best to do this while the lock is in place however when this isn't possible, you may take it off to measure. It is important to not have a extension of the cylinder beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks.

Most newer cylinders have been made with bump and anti-drill features included in their design. These are designed to reduce attack chances by forcing the cylinders to turn in a different direction. This will help to deflect the attack and ensure your doors are secure.

Some cylinders are designed to withstand snapping. This is a growing method of attack on cylinders, where the break line in the lock is attacked using a special tool to snap off the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. This is faster and more straightforward than gaining access through a multipoint lock and leaves little evidence of a break-in, which could hinder an insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned inside the base of your door handle backplate providing a sprung solution to return the multipoint lock handles back to their normal position after use. Previously a lot of these types of handle did not have a spring integrated into them, and as a result, they can droop or 'drop' once the locking window handle mechanism is disengaged. The addition of this simple element is one of the most effective ways to fix this issue and is an excellent way to stop your upvc doors from getting stuck in an open or closed position, as these aren't always easy to manually close by hand.

These spring cassettes are specially designed to be used with multipoint locks sprung They will not work with non-sprung multipoint handles. You will need to have a hole specifically cut in your backplate in order for them to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement to damaged or missing cassettes on the backplate of uPVC door uvpc window handles. They are available as a single unit. They come with a square cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.
