Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was an ode to the classic sextet structure and an even more consistent and powerful album with a sharper edge. The edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the maturation in the group. Bobby Kimball's growing ability to play was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. Keyboardist David Paich's work also was sharper, more intricate and less cloying than previously recorded efforts.

After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live concert in Amsterdam which was released as a set of two CDs entitled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records.
