After you have identified the proper PZ size and the correct PZ size, you must make sure that the push and lever pads are shaped to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your door. Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other types of doors. They operate by using a key to unlock a cylinder case which is then revealed with pins that can be aligned to those in the lock body, allowing them to turn a revolving cam, thus opening the door. Euro cylinders are available with up to six pins. External and internal doors require different levels of security.

The choice of cylinder is crucial. It's dependent on the amount of use your doors and handles will receive. For instance, exterior doors must be secured with an extra secure cylinder, whilst internal doors can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that can improve security, for instance, anti-drill or anti bump properties.

To make sure that the euro cylinder is the correct size for your door, it must be measured accurately. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, in the event that one is present. If you cannot measure with the lock in position, you can remove it. It is crucial to ensure that there is no cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to snapping lock attacks.

Most newer cylinders have been made with bump and anti-drill features that are built into their design. They are designed to decrease the risk of attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in the opposite direction. This will help to deflect the attack and ensure your doors are secure.

There are cylinders designed to resist snapping. This is a growing method of attack on cylinders, which is where the break line of the lock is smashed using a special tool to break off the front of the cylinder to allow the door to be opened. This is a faster and easier way to gain access than a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the break-in which can make it difficult to prove insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is located in the base plate of the door handle. It offers a spring-loaded solution to return your multipoint lock handles to their resting position after usage. These handles used to have no spring, and would slide when the locking mechanism was removed. This simple part is the best solution to address this issue. It also stops your door from getting stuck in either the open or closed position as they aren't easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with sprung multipoint locks. They won't work with unsprung handles, and you will have to cut a hole into your backplate for them to fit. (Please look at the image for a more detailed diagram). They are a replacement for existing broken or missing cassettes within the door handle backplate of various brands of uPVC doors. They are sold as a single unit. They feature a square cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.
