UPVC Replacement Door Handles

Over time, the handles on your doors will wear out and require replacement. It is important to keep the same dimensions as the handles that were previously used when replacing them.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever handle is a contemporary door handle designed to work with new or replacement doors. This type door handle is available in a variety of styles & finishes. This handle is offered by several manufacturers, including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.

Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle

The uPVC/Composite door handles are made of sturdy materials and are perfect for doors with multi-point locks that require a heavy duty design. The handles are inline and they utilize the same screws and spindle to fix them. They can be easily installed on a new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.

The design of the sprung lever allows the handle to be positioned and angled to provide a comfortable grip and is suitable for all users. The handle has been endurance-tested to 200 000 cycles. This ensures that the quality of finish and performance is maintained over time. The sprung lever can also be reduced to accommodate more locks. This is particularly useful in doors with smaller door frames where the cylinder is located further back. A lever that is shorter is a good choice for doors where the latch can be opened by a thumb turn located on the inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently to the lever type handles found on most doors. These handle types can either use a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are commonly utilized on UPVC doors with double glazing handle glazing. They are available in a range of finishes and variations.

The handles have been tested to a minimum of 200 000 cycles and are available in various finishes, including White Silver, Chrome, & Gold. The finish is compliant with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, which gives the handle a high level of durability and performance for the intended use.

All UPVC handle lever pads include a spindle and screws, and can be fitted on a uPVC door. The backplate fixing centers of 211mm allow for a larger size handle that can often be a benefit when replacing a damaged or worn multi point door lock mechanism. These handle levers are also sprung, solving the problem of handles that slide out of the horizontal position when they are not in use.

It is crucial to ensure that the dimensions of the PZ for both the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC doors when selecting the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is often referred to as the "handle centre" or "cylinder centres which is a crucial aspect of matching up the appropriate handles.

Once you have decided on the proper PZ size, you will need to ensure that the push and lever pads are shaped to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles you require for your door. They are typically round or square with an internal lever and an external push pad.

The majority of the UPVC Lever Pads we sell are spring-loaded. This means that they can be reverted to a horizontal position after they are not in use instead of hanging, and possibly securing to the frame. This helps prevent the draughts and cold air from entering a property. The majority of UPVC lever pad style handles are available in left and right handed models that allow them to be put on either side of the doors.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are usually found on uPVC doors, but they can also be used on other types of doors. Cylinder locks are operated by using a key that unlocks the cylinder case. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned to those inside the lock, allowing them to turn the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders are available with up to six pins. Internal and external doors require different levels of security.

The choice of cylinder you choose is crucial. It is based on the amount of use your doors and handles will receive. For example, external doors must be secured with a higher security cylinder, whilst internal doors can be secured with the standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders are available with extra features that increase security further, such as anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

To make sure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it should be measured correctly. The cylinder needs to be measured from the central screw hole to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn if there is one. It is best to do this with the lock in place, but if this is not feasible, you can take it off and take it off to measure. It is important to ensure that there is no cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it vulnerable to snapping lock attacks.

The majority of modern cylinders have been constructed with bump and anti-drill features included in their design. These features are designed to minimize the risk of attack by forcing the cylinder to rotate in an opposite direction. This helps prevent attacks and ensure your doors are secure.

Certain cylinders are constructed to resist snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A special tool is used to break the break line of the lock and then the front of cylinder is snapped off. This is a faster and more convenient method of gaining access than using a multipoint locking system. It also leaves no evidence of the break-in which can make it difficult to prove insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is found within the base plate of your door handle. It is a spring-loaded solution to help return the multipoint lock handles to their resting position after using. These handles used to have no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. Adding this simple component is among the most effective ways to fix this and it is also an excellent way to stop your upvc doors from getting stuck in either closed or open position, as they aren't always simple to manually close by hand.

These spring cassettes are specially designed for use with sprung multipoint locks but they won't work with non-sprung multipoint handles for upvc windows. You must have a hole specifically cut in the backplate to allow them to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes are a solution to broken or missing cassettes that are in the backplate of uPVC door double glazed windows handles. They are fitted with a square cut-out that can accommodate an 8mm spindle, and they are supplied individually.

These spring cassettes are a great cost-effective solution to the issue of door handles that are sagging.
