Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

Following a series of social media posts suggesting it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally revealed its NFT (non fungible token) Project. Space Key is being developed by a non-publicized artist, and based on cutting-edge carbon fiber composite materials, which were sent to the International Space Station as research material, is a project which was announced by Lamborghini.

The latest project - dubbed the Space Key - is a piece of art that was created in collaboration with an artist who is not known. The unique NFT is a physical object which connects to a unique digital artwork accessible through an QR code on the back. The project is a limited edition and will be auctioned off within the coming weeks.

The Space Key is made of a carbon composite material that Lamborghini, as part a research project in 2019 was sent to the International Space Station. The carbon fiber was transformed into an original artwork when it returned to Earth. The physical object is inscribed with an NFT serial number which ties to the digital artwork via QR codes on the back.

For those who aren't in the aware, NFTs are unique identifiers stored on a blockchain ledger. They are linked to an digital asset such as a photo, video or other type of record. This allows owners to ensure the authenticity, scarcity, and trackability of their tokens over the internet.

Lamborghini is taking this unique approach to art by collaborating with NFT PRO, an white label NFT solution for business. In the coming weeks, Lamborghini will reveal details about the exciting project. This includes the names of the unknown artists as well as a timeline for auction.

The physical component of Space Key

After multiple social media posts that teased something space-themed the Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini entered the world non-fungible (NFT) tokens with an exclusive project called Space Key. Only five Space Keys have been produced.

Space Key consists of five units and was built with a physical part of the carbon fiber composite that was sent to the ISS in 2019. Each NFT will be equipped with a QR code which links it to a unique digital art work by the same artist. The digital artwork

After weeks of social-media posts hinting it, luxury automobile maker Lamborghini finally announced its first project for non-fungible tokens (NFT). It's called the Space Key, it consists of five physical items that unlock an exclusive digital artwork created by the unidentified artist. Developed in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm) The "collector's work" is limited to only five units and will be auctioned off soon.

The core of each Space Key is a block of carbon fire composite material that was shipped to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research project. After returning to Earth, the block was engraved with a QR codes that link to the digital element within the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a separate moment that occurs a few seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. More than 600 million pixels make each of the five images which were shot by photographer Fabian Oefner.

Oefner used a balloon equipped with a camera that captured each of the individual images, which were then merged into the final image. The result is an image that is completely out of the world. It captures the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyperrealistic picture of a car rising from the Earth. The Space Keys will be auctioned off soon, but the exact date and location of the event hasn't been set yet.

The auction

The five NFTs are available for bidding by making an online registration. Each one will be auctioned by itself and the winner will receive a digital image made by renowned photographer Fabian Oefner, which captures the five different times the Space Key passed during its flight through space.
