World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item's level rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue before the component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher tier version of an item will be dropped in the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much they'll increase after a future reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a significant possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break if it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as you can to level 15.

In the endgame you'll often discover that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the various Glyphs as well as some rare glyphs to be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Utilizing Glyphs Glyph can boost all nodes that are connected to it, and it is recommended to position your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for example should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade item system of items allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be eligible to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When an item is upgraded by a player to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a new item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will become the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This could be a problem in that it could make the item more expensive, even if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This can be beneficial, but should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like a dolphin). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item can be very valuable in PvP as the Best item upgrader version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The upgrader for items allows players to increase the level of their equipment (armor, weapons, and trinkets) above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also improve the strength of their base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded up to eight times. Every each time you upgrade an item upgrades it has a chance to fail--the rate of failure increases as you exceed the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will result in the item reverting back to its original state, which will force the user to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained like the chance to crit attack damage, additional effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or reloading speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment Best item upgrader may have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items may require different upgrades than normal equipment. For example, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will still need to take every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require an individual amount of ingredients for upgrading.
