World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The upgrade of an item upgrades lets players boost an item upgrader kit's gear rating up to 700 points and add a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you decide to take them to the kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd to increase their stats (like an ideally broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) and others, like weapons, do not change significantly after an upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally some weapons come with an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a single unit. This bonus can sometimes be greater than the damage that an upgrade can do on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade item a weapon will increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is usually a positive factor, but it could also have negative effects. For items that only see use in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example), upgrading them may render them useless unless you have an extremely lucky roll.

The ability to upgrade armor items to improve their stats. For instance, if you have chests or helms this will increase the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may reduce its value.

The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will get when upgraded and their respective values. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will strike 3 times less often as it is an absolute number.

A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button with arrows that circle in the item menu. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats, but it will not reset the weapon's level or connect it to an account's status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make the world of difference to your survivability. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poisons fire, magic, and other. This makes it easier to navigate difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the greater health you can receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four of them each of which requires you to complete a special side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to remain competitive in frigid environments with a large group of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense, which means you're able to withstand a rout with friends.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll need to work on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you will still be wearing by the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. Generally speaking, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have a few improvements to the chest armor and helmets to let you stealthy battle some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, give a temporary effect. There are five different types of potions, each with a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to enhance their level of effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.

Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by making them on a crafting table or the chest of the Alchemist. However, the cost of upgrading is dependent on the type of potion you want to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.

To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI that lets you select the potion you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll provide when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP total.

When a poton is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate unless you make use of it again or break the bottle in which it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change its name.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanics of potions. Splash potions, for instance are now available with a time of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds shown on the item hover display. The potion table can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. Additionally, using a potentio in a cauldron that is full drains the liquid and replenishes the bottle.

There are also simmering potions that are made using splash and dragon breath potions. Similarly, a lingering potions can be enhanced by adding redstone. The table of potion ingredients is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is a small, inexpensive ornament or piece jewelry. It can also refer to an object or decoration that serves a purpose, but is not particularly significant such as a tiny thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is used to symbolize friendship or affection, especially between family members.

Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons or armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their stats.

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of each zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrading a trinket is an affordable alternative to buying an entirely new one. It is possible to upgrade the player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl of the older one, and include an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

When the old Trinkets are not usable they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value with time. They can be traded among players which makes them a good alternative to gold.

In general players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries and then other pieces of gear that they won't replace in the near future (for instance, a ring or cloak). When deciding on which items to upgrade, players should be aware of their class's preferred statistics. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers it is recommended that they upgrade their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl once they're no longer needed and the new trinket will receive an additional upgrade bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it can be saved using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
