Line-up

The album's third, Turn Back, marked an reversion to the classic sextet format of previous albums and was a stronger, more consistent effort that had an edge that was stronger than Hydra. The edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the development of the group. Bobby Kimball's growing ability to play was evident in the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard skills were also sharper, more complex, and less derivative on earlier efforts.

After touring to promote their album, the band recorded their Amsterdam live show that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between. The group released a brand new studio album just a few months after, and went on a world tour support it.
