Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Most upgrade components slotted into items are not able to be repaired or replaced without dismantling the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use but it hasn't been incorporated to gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can remove any glyph with the help of the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed that it was installed in, but you can recover the upgraded item with the glyph and its fragments, therefore, it shouldn't be considered as a loss.

Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to recycle.
