Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, increasing its stats base or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Typically items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas objects with strong bases, such as Eth titans don't change significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be slotted into trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or additional effect when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, dropped by enemies, or obtained as a reward from missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. In order to upgrade an item level upgrade of armor, the player has to select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.

There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be put on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. In the case of upgrades to gather tools If a player replaces one glyph with another, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, excluding the inscriptions that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important variations from the previous versions. Gear is now divided into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level however the materials required don't increase as much. This lets players focus their efforts on a couple of essential items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading upgrade costs across several pieces.

Each upgrade step will require a certain number of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the current level of the item and the item slot it's in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item fails to get to its maximum level The NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to another person and then re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower rate of success.

Engineers will utilize a level to measure the height of the building with an established point, like a benchmark. This method is known as a "level loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to the highest degree of precision and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a vital aspect of the game and can drastically improve an item's strength, damage, or other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the item menu or pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling is costly and should only be done in the rarest of circumstances.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items come with a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.

In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more often than others. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for every stat. This could be good or bad, based on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the power of the item upgrades by a specific percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are offered in addition to the usual affixes. The more you improve a product, the better the chance of receiving a unique bonus.

The game also has a number set that grants an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an unit. This is an excellent method to add a lot of power to a particular character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Many players prefer to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the early stages of the game. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character quicker, which enables players to advance in the game and attain higher levels.

Sets

Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items to parity with the tiers. For example the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrading lower-level set items can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button in the screen for their character. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spells or glyphs that damage weapons.
