Saab Key Programming

Saab cars manufactured since 1994 have an immobilizer feature made up of coded keys. A new transponder is required for inclusion of an additional key, and special programming. This is usually done by the dealer with a specialized Tech2 diagnostic tool.

Transponder key

The transponder is a piece of key that has an electronic chip. This chip sends out a signal when the key is placed into the ignition. The car will check to see whether the signal matches with the one on the key. If the signals are the same the car will then unlock itself and start. This is an excellent way to guard your car against theft.

Transponder keys could be an increasingly popular feature for cars, but they are not as safe as traditional metal keys. While the metal parts of a conventional key can be cut and copied however, a transponder is secured by an electronic chip. Jump-starting the battery

Most people keep a set of jumper cables in their trunks to use in an emergency, but jumping a battery on modern automobiles might not be the most efficient option.
