Easy to install

Fiat 500 key covers are an easy way to refresh your car keys. They come in a variety of styles and colors so you'll be able to find the perfect one to match your style. You can install them yourself in ten minutes. You'll require a screwdriver and some patience. The first step is to remove the previous cover from your key. This must be removed before the new cover can be installed.

After removing the old cover Once you have removed the old cover, use a flathead screwdriver in order to pry out the four main attachment clips on the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are highlighted in red on the image below. Note the yellow locating tabs, which must be disconnected.

After removing the battery, replace it with a brand new 3 volt coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should be facing the opening on the fob, and the "side that is "-" side should be facing the rubber buttons.

Reattach the passenger side mirror cover by aligning the tabs that locate it. After you've done this, place the fob on the driver's side in your car and test it by pressing the button on the front of the car key. If everything is working as it should, the parking lights should be turned on and the doors will automatically lock.

Easy to remove

The key fob houses a microchip that communicates with the Body Control Module. When you insert your Fiat key, it presses the button on the ignition switch. This is used to remind you of the "key-inignition". The BCM will then be able to read the transponder that is in the key fob and confirm that it's genuine.
