WoW Upgrades - The item level upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a an increase in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade items gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item level upgrade, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new gear. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They are purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. After an item upgrading has been upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by having players complete specific achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a benefit as well as an issue.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with several new features added. Once a player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item upgrades level will cost less. Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW, players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another notable modification is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment you have and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
