The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you want for each room.

For example, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only minor issue is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but a quick glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance tasks must be completed like emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time, with the mop able to operate for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode, and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood although we would have liked to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot mop and automatic vacuum cleaner, is the newest version. Unlike last year's model it comes with an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to remove smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which helps it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It is able to change its direction automatically and clean around them without missing a step.

It's the most expensive model I've tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning robot mop and vacuum mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child-lock and a home-button that can take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin fills up automatically.

The only downside I've discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to remove the mount itself for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot hoover and mop passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track the life of batteries and maintenance on components. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with innovative features, superior suction power, and advanced mowing capabilities. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair, crumbs and other dry messes. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. Additionally, the X40 is very quiet during operation, only producing occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple and simple to use and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. They can also adjust suction power, switch modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished.

The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it comes with a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and small dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from building up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a great method of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There's a plethora of settings available that include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. These can be set via the app or there are buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also offers many functions that are not available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white design that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this listing however it's not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. They can even extend up to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice addition.
