Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills, staining) in one session without the need to switch out devices. They can also save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its relatively low cost and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start manual can get you up and running in no time. You'll have a the complete dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at fast speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only problem is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what the robot completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that shows when maintenance is needed like emptying the debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you look at every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's most popular best robot cleaner vacuum and mop. In contrast to the model of last year, this one features a double agitator in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to remove finer hairs and other debris other best robotic mop and vacuum cleaners might miss.

As with the other two Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then change its direction automatically and clean them without missing a step.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child-lock and a home-button that can send the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin automatically refills.

The only negative I discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app allows you to manage and configure these smart features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and cutting-edge mowing capabilities. Its innovative design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while also saving time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry debris. It comes with a mop that is high quality that cleans hard floors without the need for pads. The X40 is also very quiet in operation, with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 also has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved like chairs and table legs. The robot can also reach under furniture with low profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots. This is a nice addition that assists the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.

Unlike some other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming at the same time or individually. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and intuitive The X40 has many smart features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features, making it a perfect option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also detect if the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It has several features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles, and clean up spills and soiled spots.

Its mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature as it stops the growth of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There's an impressive amount of options available which include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a variety of preferences. They can be set through the app or direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options for customising the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are a lot of functions that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles rather than using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen in the market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots listed on this list but it's not a lot of weight. It is solid and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
