BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus for communication with your vehicle. This stops thieves from replacing the ECU or adding new locks to bypass the security system.

Stop & Start

It is connected to the BMW CAN data network, and is programmed with an unique PIN code that can be accessible via buttons in your car. Service / Valet Mode

Anti-Hijack

Ghost created this subtle, unobtrusive device to combat the growing sophistication of hi-tech thieves. It is designed to stop thieves from using keys or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive off. Ghost links up to your CAN data network, and utilizes the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel, centre console and door panels) to create a unique push sequence which must be entered before the engine can start.

When the anti-hijacking feature is activated and the engine is restarted, any attempt to restart the engine will be blocked. If the system detects that the vehicle has stopped moving it will honk the horn and flash the indicators. If it is not able to find the correct code it will also stall the engine (where possible). The Anti-Hijack feature is disabled by entering your push sequence, or by enabling service mode, which allows your car to temporarily begin and drive, without having to enter your PIN.

If you have an GPS device that is connected to your BMW and you want to utilize it to disable the Anti-Hijack function to allow you to use your navigation system while the vehicle is parked. You can also use your smartphone to control the anti-theft feature as well as other functions.

The system allows you to turn the vehicle on, select drive and leave service mode without having keys. You can also track your vehicle's location on an interactive map on your smartphone.

The Ghost can be fitted under the dashboard or inside the center console. It is completely concealed and tamperproof and does not require additional wiring. The device is connected to the vehicle's CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personal PIN code is embedded into it. The pin code has to be selected prior to the vehicle's start. This stops thieves from using a copied key or replacing the ECU in order to get around this system.

If the vehicle is stolen, the Ghost will go into a service mode and disables all functions until the PIN code is entered, or you make use of the mobile app to dearm it.
