iRobot Vacuum and Mop Review

Unlike some robot vacuums, this one isn't afraid to go on the stairs. However, like any mop and vacuum it is prone to getting blocked by debris such as the stray tennis shoes ribbons, beads or play jewelry, yarn, or other stray objects.

The iRobot Home App allows you to label rooms and even create zones that are not allowed to enter. You can also track the performance of your mops as well as their battery levels.

iRobot Combo j7+

The Combo J7+ is a robot vacuum and mop that combines the smart mapping capabilities of iRobot along with the ability to handle spills. It has the same acoustic sensor that is onboard and iAdapt 2.0 Navigation as other Roomba models and maps your home seven times more quickly than previous versions. It also lets you set Keep Out Zones and Clean Zones to inform the robot which areas it should stay clear of and when to clean them.

In my testing, the Combo J7+ did a great job at avoiding spraying water onto the rug. The robot didn't attempt to walk across the rug, even after I moved it around several times.

The arm has a 240mL tank which can be easily popped out and filled, so it's easier to manage than the mop pads of many other 2-in-1 robots. It utilizes iRobot PrevisionVision obstacle-avoidance technology which is more advanced than other systems similar to it.

iRobot Combo i5

It is designed to do mopping and vacuuming in one machine, this is a top option for those who are multitaskers. The vacuuming process is completed by using a special bin that can hold up to 60 days of debris. According to iRobot, this reduces dust that is released into the air. The i5+ comes with a dual multi-surface rubber brushes as well as Power-Lifting suction to tackle dirt and dust hair, pet hair, and staining. When you're ready to mop, simply switch in the Mopping Bin and a compatible cleaning solution.

iRobot Combo j5

This robotic vacuum and mop from iRobot is a good option for homes that have carpets and hard floors. It uses intelligent mapping to remove obstacles and efficiently clean. It provides a variety of mopping options including the SmartScrub system that can remove difficult stains. In addition, it has the ability to create No Mop Zones to ensure that carpets don't get being sucked up, and the dock automatically replenishes the mopping solution. The price is higher than the earlier Roomba Combo j7+, but it offers more features.

iRobot Combo i3

The iRobot Combo i3 has been upgraded from the original Roomba i3. It still has a HEPA-filter to trap allergens and the same great external dust compartment, but it now supports smart mapping. It is now possible to create zones that are not accessible to prevent the vacuum from cleaning these areas repeatedly. The i3 Plus still has a number of other great features, including its advanced cleaning system with 10x power-lifting suction and three-stage cleaning process. It also features a textured exterior to protect against fingerprints, dust and hair of pets.

It is able to clean most debris and is a great choice for carpets that are not bare, but it did have problems with pet hair on carpets with low pile. It does an excellent job with carpets with a high pile and is much quieter than the other models. The i3 is a little more expensive than the Roborock S4 Max but it comes with a self-emptying system which emptys the dirtbag, fills its water reservoir, and cleans the mop pads.

You can create cleaning schedules with the i3 App. You can also control your robot with your voice assistant to begin or stop cleaning. It also tracks the unique layout of your home to give you a personalized cleaning routine and scheduling. It uses state-of-the-art mapping sensors to navigate hardwood and carpet, and learns your routine to optimize performance.

iRobot Combo i2

The Combo i2 robot vacuum and mop is the most recent product from iRobot. It integrates iRobot's advanced floor cleaning technologies to make it a great pick for homes with hard floors and carpets or rugs. However, you won't be able to look inside the compartment as it's made of transparent plastic. The i4 is also missing some features, like the AI-powered obstacle-avoidance and keep-out zones that are found on the j7 and j7+.

However, it does have an efficient cleaning system as well as a set of rubber brushes that don't get caught in pet hair. It's an excellent choice for homes with high pile carpets because it can handle more dirt and debris than weaker vacuums. The i4 is also less demanding in terms of maintenance requirements, incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance and also has a longer time of operation in its most powerful suction mode than the i7.
