The i3+ isn't able to have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we tested. It can be stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces like rug and hardwood.

iRobot suggests that you clean the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or clutter it might come across. It's also a good idea to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning where it started. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for about an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes around three hours to fully recharge.

2. Roomba from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot, and it is equipped with the most recent features. It has self cleaning vacuum-charging and self-navigating. But the most significant feature is the self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can control your robot through the app or by voice.

The i7+ is quicker and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin that eliminates a major cause of maintenance and lowers recurring costs.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room and sweep a specific space. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and easy with the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to speak commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

The main issue with the V10 is its limited run time. The claims of its marketing that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are not true as CR's tests have shown. This is a standard battery-powered vacuum's run time. It's enough time to clean a typical-sized home, but not enough to get into every corner. (A second run is usually sufficient). This doesn't mean that this model doesn't have its advantages: It's lighter and mobile than the older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is noticeably better on low-pile carpet.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in an expensive robot. It was able to remove the majority of types of debris and sizes during our tests, and frequently went over the same area several times for an extensive clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach the corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to avoid obstacles and guide you through your home. However, it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and j7+ Series. This means that it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords and low furniture, and it often runs out of battery power before making it back to its home base.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
