In our test of how it cleaned baking soda close to corners and baseboards, the Scout RX3 was impressive. Its 2,500Pa of suction was a little weaker than other robots, however, it moved swiftly and was quiet. It didn't mop, however and its cleaning pads were a bit difficult to attach and didn't deal with dried-on dirt.

Its app isn't equipped with advanced features such as multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It works with Alexa however its voice commands don't seem to be very clear or responsive. It's also a little erratic when it returns to the charging station following the course. Other robots can follow a wall or trace an earlier route, but the RX3 stumbles around until it finally gives up.

Another issue we faced was with its smart features, specifically the mapping function and digital keep-out zones. While it did a great job of keeping away from our furniture legs and shoes however, it was easily stuck by cables and socks, and it was not able to manage the tassels on carpets. That's the reason we didn't choose to include it in our Best Buy list. Still, with a decent price and impressive performance it's a Scout RX3 is worth considering when you're looking for an alternative to traditional uprights.
