As its name suggests, the GE Profile series is targeted at those who wish to incorporate cutting-edge technology into their kitchen. The refrigerator is brimming with features, from an in-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a clever water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. This refrigerator is costly, so I expected better.

This fridge is a good choice, despite the blip. It comes with a huge freezer compartment, which is quite uncommon in counter-depth French door fridges, and it holds a fair amount of frozen foods compared to similar models.

Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is typical for a French-door refrigerator at this price. It has a decent-sized icemaker in the left door. But, it's not the largest one I've seen.

You can adjust the shelving in both compartments to create a customized storage arrangement for whatever you have to store. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is also attractive. Its LED lighting is a nice touch, and the in-door storage bins feature a third shelf that folds down so that you can store tall items. The drawers come with temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, but I found their plastic textured coatings a bit hard on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range. This includes Wi-Fi as well as app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices allows you to control your refrigerator from anywhere in the world, and it has a ton of customization options. It also sends you notifications when doors are left open, when your fridge or freezer needs defrosting and when it's time to change the filter.

It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill, an option available in a handful of other GE fridges that allows you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to disperse at once. The fridge displays a countdown to reveal how much water is left however it's not as effective as Precise fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The Bosch french door fridge with non-plumbed ice & water dispenser-door Refrigerator is a striking piece. It's designed to appear like it's a seamless part in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a vegetable compartment that helps keep vegetables and fruits fresher for longer, and two compressors to ensure maximum preservation of food. The ice maker we tested was one of the most efficient and makes pyramid shaped ice using minimal water. This fridge is the perfect option for households with a single member or kitchenettes looking for a sleek design and top-of-the-line food preservation.

This fridge was rated as the top in our Refrigerators Test for a variety of reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at just a few degrees Fahrenheit, never changing by more than a fraction a degree--this is key in preventing freezing burn. The fridge's refrigerator section also performed well, reaching the desired initial set temperature within an hour and maintaining the temperature constant over the course of our testing.

Bosch is known for its high-end appliances which is why it's no surprise that this counter-depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance that has the option of connecting to your home Wi-Fi as well as Bosch's Home Connect platform. The app allows you to monitor and control the refrigerator remotely using your smartphone or tablet. The fridge is expensive, but it comes with great features and capabilities for the cost.

It is important to know the limitations of your fridge. It has a limited space for shelves, so you may need to be creative when storing tall objects. The shelves aren't spillproof and can easily be damaged or stained by sharp items. It is easy to take out the trays in the fridge However, be sure to clean them frequently to prevent mold growth.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S is a top counter-depth refrigerator that packs plenty of storage in the frame's compact size. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge features a standard French door design, and two rows of shelving with spill-capture and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right side can be folded down to make space for tall items. There's also a full-width storage drawer for products from the deli and an inside water dispenser.

One of the best french door fridge with ice maker aspects of this refrigerator is that its Ice maker is located in the freezer, making it easy to transfer frozen ice to the fridge to be used when it is needed. The freezer also has thoughtful design features, like sliding drawers that can help you organize your belongings. It also has a large bin that can accommodate plenty of frozen food items as well as an storage bin for ice.

Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can manage the temperature, lighting, and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It's an easy way to monitor your refrigerator and control it, especially when you're away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat, but it doesn't necessarily improve the efficiency of the fridge. In fact it took a bit longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge as compared to other fridges we tested. This could be due to its greater capacity.

Another issue with the door of this refrigerator. They have sunken handles on the front, which allow shorter people to easily pull them open from the bottom, but they're not easy for taller people to steer shut without slamming them. It would have been much better if they had front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent option for those who want to combine the look of a French door refrigerator with an efficient design. Its capacity is above average for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a good layout. It's also less expensive than the top counter depth refrigerators that have an icemaker, which makes it an attractive option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire Non Plumbed French Door Fridge door refrigerator is a good option for those looking for a French-door refrigerator that doesn't cost a lot of budget. It's a basic refrigerator which may not be as appealing as some of its competitors, but it still has enough features to make it a suitable option. Its most significant feature, the temperature adjustable drawer, helps to keep food items such as vegetables and meat fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge ice maker and a water dispenser.

Another nice feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits over the two crisper bins. This drawer lets you divert part of the refrigerator's cooling power directly to this area, meaning you can put away food items that need extra attention. This feature is adjustable using a slider on the outside of the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've noticed that the generic settings are more effective than the specific ones.

During my experiments, I noticed that the temperatures in the refrigerator were fairly consistent in various parts of the fridge. Temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge did not vary significantly from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within a degree of 36. This is a solid performance, but does not quite make it to the top of our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also pair this fridge with a smart thermometer to get more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is constructed of stainless steel with a grey body that has a "smudge-proof" finish. It does an excellent job of removing streaks and fingerprints even when compared with shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
