World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix that alters the name of the equipment with which it is used (for instancefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players create stronger versions with less Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level with normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will be available at the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear even in the event that they don't know what will be improved following the reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be costly and there is a significant risk that the item may be obsolete or even break if it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also give an additional bonus when they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the effectiveness of all nodes in the area around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible to level 15.

In the final game you'll often discover that the best way to improve your gear is by placing Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, so it is recommended to place Glyphs in strategic spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items lets players increase the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components into them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to reach, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is advanced in level.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrading an item upgrade. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item upgrader kit is replaced with a new item of the same type. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This could be a problem, as it can make the item more expensive if you don't require it.

The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). This item can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

The item upgrader allows players to increase the level of their equipment (armor, weapons, and trinkets) above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its initial state and the player having to pay for more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance, attack damage, and all additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or reload speed). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in crit chance it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated every time an upgrade items is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.

Premium items might require different upgrades than standard gear. For instance, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the cost mentioned above.
