World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For instance an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment with a slot for them. The item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be inserted. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the item to the upgrade (for instance 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of an armored weapon or. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be dropped at the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much it will improve after a future reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be costly and there is a high chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in their radius, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Using Glyphs Glyph can boost all nodes that are linked to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For example an Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, however, you may also want to be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has an amount, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires a different number of components to be reached and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player improves an item upgrader kit, the base item will be replaced with the new item. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This could be a problem, as it can cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to do this. The Best item upgrader will be replaced with the same item, but it has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can waste a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or does not swim as dolphins). The item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense and upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an item it has the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the more you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to revert to its initial state, requiring the player to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained like crit chance attack damage, other effects (such as increased heal over time, or reloading speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is computed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.

Premium items could have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For example they might require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. However, players must visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs listed above.
