Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment results in an increase in the linearity of a given stat.

Players can recycle six items at a time to gauge each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases with their rarity and item level.

Upgrade components

An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can increase the power of your weapon and armor. This can be accomplished by a variety of methods such as using upgrade components or increasing the rarity or mark level. Additionally, many items can be reforged, which can increase their stats.

Upgradable items can be found in the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. Upgrade components are the most common method to upgrade equipment. These are the items that slot into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots to upgrade and some require a certain amount of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses while others give an overall bonus.

There are a variety of upgrade components in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be placed in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from boosting the speed of an item's gathering to supplying additional crafting materials.

Select the item in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, along with any required components or materials. If you don't have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.

The upper-right side of the screen shows the number of upgrade components required for a particular item. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the upgrade level and rarity, but can be reduced using various methods, including purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them to other players.

Most weapons can be upgraded with a prefix upgrade for example, an insignia, or a rune, and a lot of them are upgraded by suffix upgrades. These upgrades can be used to add an adjective to the name of the item, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to communicate visual information. They animate in order to grab the viewer's eye and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in conveying an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph increases a stat's value by a specific amount. This is displayed on the item when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the exact amount at which the glyph will increase a stat, but the maximum amount by which it is able to do so. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier and the quality of the item upgrading that you are enchanting.

The majority of upgrade components that are installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use but it hasn't been applied to gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.

If you wish to remove the glyph from an item then you'll need to save it using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is located will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be salvaged by removing the glyph fragments.

A glyph added to an item can cause it to become unstable, and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you remove the item. You can also apply an inscription on your equipment to provide a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and then be dealt slowly to the wearer instead of all at once. This is helpful for those who take many hits from enemies, but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens are used to alter the affixes on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, such as mysterious boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token grants players a new random affix that is usually superior to the original. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items are not listed on the menu for item upgrades, but they can still be upgraded. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade item" button which alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its level gauge. This amount is determined by the item's rarity and its level, therefore items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.

In addition to tokens for rerolls, players can use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls will roll a % chance of a weapon's traits. If it is higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be repeated up to three times.

Rerolling is a great option to upgrade an item. However, players must be aware of the fact that the total ilvl is diminished by the number of that it took to reroll it to the final level. This effect of lowering is most effective with ring items and Diadems that don't have alternatives to raise their ilvls.

The reroll system has been criticized by players for being expensive and it's more equitable to let players pay for it in the form of money or food items which would allow players to alter their builds without spending too much time and effort. However, paid rerolls are not something that the developers would like to incorporate at this point in the game's development. Instead, they plan to include an option to change the race in the near future.

Leveling

There are a number of ways to increase the level of an upgrade to an item. The first method of leveling up an upgrade for an item is by increasing the amount of upgrade. This increases the value of upgrading a stat. The second option is to boost the impact of the upgrade, which can increase the healing or damage for a stat. Finally, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. After this, the new item will retain its iLevel however it will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.

It is important to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. In the majority of cases the Best item upgrader roll will be derived from glyphs, but there are also chances for higher or more special rolls. In addition, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the item type, so if you upgrade a rare or unusual item to an extraordinary type, it will have a chance to get an increased iLevel.

Upgrades can be expensive particularly if you are upgrading equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The price will depend on the item's iLevel base and the amount of upgrade levels it comes with. Certain upgrade tracks require crests to be completed in order to move on to the next level.

If you're fortunate, your upgraded item may reach the maximum level on its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional benefit. This will provide the item with a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level though. In general, the upgrade item effect is increased a value of +3.

The iLevel can also change according to the upgrade path and its base level. For example an item that has been upgraded from being a scarce or unique item to an outstanding one can be expected to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
