Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

Following a series of social media posts hinting at it, Italian supercar maker lamborghini keys (killer deal) finally announced its NFT (non fungible token) Project. Space Key is a project that was created in collaboration with a non-publicized artist and based upon advanced carbon fiber composite materials that were sent to the International Space Station as research material, is a project which was announced by Lamborghini.

Lamborghini, the Italian automobile manufacturer has taken the first step into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The new project, called the Space Key, is a work that was created in collaboration with an unidentified artist. The one-of-a-kind NFT is a physical item which connects to a unique digital artwork that can be accessed via a QR code on the back. The project is a limited edition and will be auctioned off in the coming weeks.

The Space Key is made of carbon composite material that Lamborghini as part of a research project in 2019 was sent to the International Space Station. After it returned to Earth the carbon fiber was then sculpted into this distinctive artwork. The physical piece is inscribed with an NFT serial number which ties to the digital artwork using QR codes on the back.

NFTs, for those not familiar are unique identifiers that are stored on an open ledger on the blockchain and connected to a digital asset such as a photograph or video, song or other record. This lets owners ensure the authenticity, scarcity, and tracking of their tokens across the internet.

Working with NFT PRO which is a white-label NFT solution for businesses, Lamborghini will take this unique approach to art to a new level. In the coming weeks, Lamborghini will reveal details about this exciting venture. This includes the name of the artists unknown to them as well as a timeline for auction.

The physical element of Space Key

Following multiple social media posts that tease some kind of space-themed item, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has stepped into the realm of tokens that are non-fungible (NFT) with an exclusive project dubbed Space Key. Developed in collaboration with an unidentified artist the NFT is a collectible item that will be auctioned off in a couple of weeks. Its base is composed of a high-tech carbon fibre composite material, which was shipped to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a study. Carbon fiber was 3D printed to form the base of each Space Key. Each Space Key is linked to an exclusive digital artwork by way of a QR code. Only five Space Keys were produced.

NFTs are unique identifiers that can be recorded on distributed ledgers such as the Blockchain and tied to a digital asset like pictures. They're popular among those who have more money than sense and it was only an issue of time before an automaker decided to capitalize on the trend.

Space Key consists of five units. The components were built using a physical piece of carbon fiber composite which was delivered to the ISS in the year 2019. Each NFT will be connected to an exclusive digital artwork by the same artist by using an QR code that is located on the backside of the carbon fiber element. In the coming weeks and days, more information will be revealed, including the name and digital artwork of the artist and how to purchase one of the five Space Keys.

The digital artwork

After several weeks of social media posts that hinted at it, the luxury car manufacturer Lamborghini has finally revealed its first non-fungible token (NFT) project. Called the Space Key, it consists of five items that unlock an exclusive digital artwork created by an artist yet to be identified. The project was developed in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm) The "collector's item" is limited to five units and will be auctioned off soon.

At the center of each Space Key is a block made of the most advanced carbon fire composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research project. After returning to Earth the Space Key was made into the QR code which links it to the digital component of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a distinct moment that occurs only seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. More than 600 million pixels up each of the five images which were shot by photographer Fabian Oefner.

Oefner used a balloon with a camera, which took each of the individual shots, which were then merged into the final image. The result is an out-of-this world photograph that captures both the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyper-realistic picture of the car rising from it. The Space Keys are going to be auctioned in the near future, however there is no specific date or location yet.

The auction

The Space Key is essentially an NFT that has carbon fiber composite material that went to the International Space Station in 2019 to conduct research. The actual sample has been cut into five distinct objects that connect to exclusive, digital artworks created by an as-yet unidentified artist through the QR code on their backs.

The auctions will run between February 1 and February 4. They will run for 75 hours and 50 minutes - the amount of time it took Apollo 11 for him to leave Earth and enter the Lunar orbit. By registering online, you can bid on five NFTs. Each NFT will be sold individually and the winner will be awarded an original digital artwork created by world-renowned photographer Fabian Oefner that captures five different moments that the Space Key experienced during its flight through space.
