Some models have superior mapping and obstacle avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robot vacuum that also mops then this is the model to look for. It's smaller than the other options on this list making it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot hoover and mop vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.

It is very quick and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one sweep. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to clean dirt as well as pet hair and droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the double side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, is not as effective. The mop rotates at a high speed and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scrubbing up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful when you're trying to get into tight corners or along baseboards. Those same front arms can also be employed to clean up larger debris, like broken toys or books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't make more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to set up and works well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum solely to mop you must pay attention to this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners who want an extremely efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.

The device has an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map your home and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and effectively. This will result in an effective, consistent cleaning which is also relatively quick.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach many different surface areas. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach spots. They also have a stretchy side brush that can be extended to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads are able to be dried and washed to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the odors.

Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the amount of suction and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more randomized pattern. You can also choose the number of passes which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.

This device is expensive however it has many useful features. It's important to note that it incurs recurring costs in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For example, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high Amazon rating and includes an array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has an power button that doubles as a 'Clean' button' as well as a 'Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank, and wash and drys its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or someone who wants to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a solid option. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and long battery life that allows you to keep your home clean with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two components, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that includes an elastomer pad. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming but it does mean that you don't have to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best robot vacuum feature was its precise map of your floorplan that it uses to create an outline for cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair from pets. It was able to capture many of the hair sheds from our cats. It even made it into the nooks and crannies on our stairs, where other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low, and there were some lovely jingles that let you know that it was in the process of finishing its work.

Its biggest drawbacks were its simplistic app and the necessity to swap out the modules whenever switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't hold multiple maps, which could be a pain when you live in a house with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have certain unique features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its massive dock that doubles as the robot's charging base and the housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a clean sink, and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.

The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These allow you to manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot vacuum cleaner best or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two of the buttons to toggle the child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognising objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as the power cord that is draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you manually free it. This was a rare incident however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert in its app.

Another possible issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use and can cause mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for the market that is dominated by boxy units.
