And it's less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying dock, though. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and detect obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum cleaner comes with an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also has a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the house based on how dirty these areas are.

If you own a larger home, it is worth choosing a model that has the option of cleaning zones or spots.
