Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one time without the need to switch out devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads using an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and also vacuums well. The mops spin at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can, ask the robot vacuum best to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only minor issue is that it can hit objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and the obstacles it's avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station tells the maintenance tasks that must be completed like emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the tank by itself with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can operate for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood however we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line best robot vacuum and mop vacuum and mop is the newest version. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaner and mop cleaners could overlook.

The Roborock model, like the other two models I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates dual cameras that can detect objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its direction in a way that is automatic vacuum and mop and clean around them without missing a step.

It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons that include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin auto-refills.

The only downside I found to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary), it's a pain to take off the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its clever design permits customised and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top options available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry debris. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 also has a side brush that is able to be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like chairs and table legs. It also allows the robot to access furniture with a low profile, making it a great choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a great feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through repeated back-and-forth movements.

Unlike some other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing mopping and vacuuming at the same time or separately. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is intuitive and user-friendly and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. They can also adjust suction power, switch modes, view maps and floor plans, and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also monitor its progress, and alert you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has numerous features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, then refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is filled and notify you when it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It has a number of features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It utilizes two mops that are high-speed to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirt-stained spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There's a wealth of settings available, including the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a number of different preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customising your cleaning routine. It also offers several features that aren't available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, sporting metallic and white design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots listed on this list, but it's still not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
