How a Jaguar Smart Key Works

Jaguar smart key lets you to lock and unlock your vehicle from afar. But, just like all electronic devices it requires electricity, that is supplied by batteries.

If your Smart Key battery is beginning to go out of date, your car may signal this by a decrease in the effective range of its signals. The message center may also show an alert "SMART-KEY BATTERY LACKS".

Keyless Entry

Because they transmit a low frequency signal, other people may receive the signal and unlock or start your car from a distance.

This is easily avoided by using the remote-start feature when you are sure you are in a secure environment and no anyone else will be able see your smart key. You can also activate the alarm from a distance, which will sound a loud enough to scare away potential thieves. You can also add the Activity Key to your smart key to avoid having to bring keys when you're hiking or mountain biking.
