It also doesn't come with cameras that let it see the corners of a room.

It's still a good value, especially if your home or office has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also very quiet and can be used when you're at work or going to school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. And, if you need to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its smart cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also has an impressive suction system and an automatic bin for emptying. This high-performing mop and vacuum combination uses advanced sensor technology to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it learns the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a room with carpet to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. 3. IRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination has a sleek, circular design that appears more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models of the competitors. It is one of our most attractive looking robot vacuum with mop vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It features advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 still a loud unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work, or during the night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and better-looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it's going to cost you more and produce more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes care of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

(It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad and a rotating motion which is cleaner than the majority mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or set up a spot-clean. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas for greater efficiency. The app also provides access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It also comes with an app that's less intuitive and has a tiny base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
