WoW Upgrades - The item upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new gear. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that are used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. This change is intended to allow players to get their gear up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them wisely. For instance it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrader equipment you have, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
