What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader adds a brand new widget at the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. The Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors, and has no other benefit to the game, aside from making it easier to purchase upgrades.

Boosts

With an upgrader for items you can enjoy a number of bonuses. They can include stats, as well as extra bonuses. These bonuses can be utilized on weapons, armor and trinkets. They can be used to enhance the capabilities of the character, or can add an additional element of variety to a build.

Some items come with built-in boos that is not effective when upgraded. For example, the Goldwrap has an extra potion slot. They are usually upgraded to increase the value of the perfect or nearly perfect item.

Costs

Upgrades are accompanied by certain costs associated with them. The first is the upgrade itself. This cost can be expensive and depends on the new level of the item as well as the number perks it gains. It can also be expensive to upgrade an item to a better tier (such as Explorer > Champion, or Veteran > Heroic).

The other is the cost of materials required to upgrade. The items used are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21and over) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable by completing certain Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). The quantity of these items required can be seen in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. Based on the magnitude of the upgrade, it can take as long as 8 hours. The base stats of the upgraded item are calculated based on the new ilvl and other characteristics. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, as well as other vital statistics. In some instances upgrades can provide additional perks. These perks are listed on a list.

Rarely, the new benefits acquired will cost more than one perk slot to acquire; in these situations, the upgrade will only replace the highest-cost perks.
