WoW Upgrades - The item upgrades Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that are used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be bought by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool using a button, which will show an item upgrader kit's preview at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount as well as a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe.
