What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader adds a new widget to the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. The Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors, and has no other benefit to the game, aside from making it easier to purchase upgrades.

Increases the effectiveness of

The stats that are the base of the upgraded item are calculated based on the new ilvl and other characteristics. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonus, damage dice, and other important stats. In some cases, an upgrade can grant additional perks. These perks are available on a list.

Rarely, the new perks obtained will cost more than one perk slot to acquire In these cases, the upgrade item will only replace the most expensive perks. The upgrader may also make other changes to the item upgrader kit, such as changing the damage type of its weapon, or adding or removing a operative or unwieldy function. The cost for these modifications is based on the item's current ilvl and it may require a special material, such as adamantine alloy.

Success Rate

Item upgrades are based on a chance, and like any random system there is a chance that the upgrade will fail. There are a number of methods to increase your odds of success. This includes using an item called an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of extra items to the upgrade.

The Upgrade Pity is available from the NPC for the smithing process in Lost Ark. It increases the odds of an upgrade items succeeding by some percentage. It's similar to the "luck bonus" that certain items provide however it is more secure. It can be added to any weapons or armor and is used three times.

It is also possible to add a range of additional materials to the upgrade, which increases the chance of success. These are shown in a window that is above the + button. There are a few limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is shown directly above the + button.

A Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version thereof, can be used to increase the odds of an upgrade succeeding. This item Upgrade is useful when your piece of equipment or weapon is near or has reached the maximum level of its tier.
