The iRobot Roomba 980 is the most recent in the line of top-of-the-line shark ez robot vacuum vacuum cleaners that are a staple in any modern home. This model is extremely powerful suction and it comes with a HEPA filter that'll assist anyone suffering from allergies. It also has a large battery that can be cleaned for up to two hours before returning to its dock automatically when the bin is full.

Smart mapping is another feature that allows it to identify areas of your home that require attention, and then creates a cleaning path to get around them. This technology is very effective at navigating around toys that have been left on the floor, or furniture legs that are sticking out from underneath objects. Roomba also has a sensor that snaps Roomba back to reality when it begins to move away from its original location.

iRobot has also included the option of rolling rollers under the Roomba that don't have bristles, which makes them more likely to resist the tangles that previous models. These are also a little taller than previous rollers and are able to fit under low couches and beds and are designed to let this model move more easily across a variety of floor types.

The Roomba 980 differs from other models of high-end quality due to its latest dirt detection feature that makes use of a camera in order to detect dirt embedded. This is a great improvement over the previous version, which relied on the sensor-driven pseudorandom coverage technique to bounce around a room and clean it at least three times from different angles.

The Roomba 980 performed well in our tests on both carpets and hard floors. It scored highly on carpets with low pile and on mid-pile. It did a good job of removing pet hair, but it struggled with very long and thick pet fur that was clumped together.

The Roomba 980 is still one of the most efficient robots we've reviewed despite the minor drawbacks. It's also less expensive than other top-of-the-line models. It's still packed with a variety of features that we'd like to find in a flagship model, but it doesn't have all the fancy app-enabled functions or smart home integration that are found in other top models.

The iRobot Roomba can be set up quickly and is ready for use right away. After taking off the yellow bin insert and pull tab from the undercarriage, you simply plug it into an outlet on the wall or to its Home Base docking stations, press the "Clean button" and Kyvol robot vacuum let it do the job. It will return to docking station when it runs out of battery or is full of trash. There are also indicator lights at the top of the bin that let you know when its bin is empty, or when it is in need of recharging or when it loses Wi-Fi.
