Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

After a string of social media posts hints at it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally revealed its NFT (non fungible token) Project. Dubbed Space Key and created in collaboration with an undisclosed artist, it is made up of an advanced carbon fiber composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station for research purposes.

Italian supercar maker Lamborghini is dipping its toes into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The new project, called the Space Key, is a work that was created by a lone artist. The unique NFT is a tangible item that connects to exclusive digital artwork, accessible via a QR code on the back. The project is a limited edition and will be auctioned off within the next few weeks.

The Space Key is made of carbon composite material that Lamborghini, as part of a research project in 2019 sent to the International Space Station. The carbon fiber was transformed into a unique art work when it returned to Earth. The physical element is embossed with an NFT serial number which ties to the corresponding digital artwork with an QR code on the back.

NFTs for those who aren't familiar are unique identifiers which are recorded on a distributed ledger of the blockchain and connected to a digital asset such as a photograph or video, song, or any other kind of record. This allows owners to guarantee authenticity and traceability of their tokens over the internet.

Lamborghini is taking this unique approach to art by collaborating with NFT PRO - an white label NFT solution for businesses. In the coming weeks the company will be sharing details about this exciting project, including the name of the unidentified artist as well as a timeline for the auction.

Its base is composed of a high-tech carbon fibre composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station in 2019 as part a research project. The carbon fiber was 3D printed to create the base of each Space Key, which is linked with an exclusive, digital artwork through a QR code on its backside. Only five Space Keys were produced.

NFTs are unique identifications that are recorded in distributed ledgers such as the Blockchain and connected to digital assets like pictures. It's a hot topic among people who have more money than common sense. It was just an issue of time before automakers decided to take advantage of.

Space Key consists of five units. The components were built with a physical part of carbon fiber composite that was shipped to the ISS in the year 2019. Each NFT will be linked to an exclusive digital artwork created by the same artist through a QR code on the back of the carbon fiber piece. The digital artwork

After weeks of social-media posts hinting at it, the luxury car maker Lamborghini finally announced its first project for non-fungible tokens (NFT). Called the Space Key, it consists of five items that unlock a unique digital art work NFT by an artist yet to be identified. Developed in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm) The 'collector's piece' is limited to five units and will be auctioned off soon.

Each Space Key contains a block made of advanced carbon-fire composite material. It was sent to the International Space Station as part of a research project for 2019. After returning to Earth the Space Key was made into a QR code, which connects it to the digital element of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a separate moment that occurs seconds apart as the lamborghini huracan key Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. Over 600 million pixels each of the five images which were captured by photographer Fabian Oefner.

Oefner used a balloon with a camera, which took each of the individual shots, which were then merged into the final image. The result is an image that is out of this world. It captures both the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyperrealistic picture of a car key lamborghini rising away from the Earth. The space key lamborghini (xilubbs.Xclub.tw) Keys are going to be auctioned in the near future, however there's no precise date or place yet.

The auction

Each NFT will be sold individually and the winner will get a digital artwork by renowned photographer Fabian Oefner that captures five different moments that the Space Key experienced during its space voyage.
