Narwal Robot Vacuum and Mop

Narwal is an relative newcomer to the market for robot vacuums. It's a sweeping/mopping hybrid that's pretty impressive. But it's also expensive and is hampered by a clunky app with a steep learning curve.

To mop, drop a detergent sheet into the base station's water tank that is clean. Then, the pads are sprayed using clean water, and scrubs floors using 10N of pressure.

Features

The Narwal T10 robot vacuum can clean, scrub and sweep hard floors. Its intelligent navigation and mapping system is based on simultaneous localization (SLAM) technologies. It also features anti-collision, anti-cliff-sensing and cliff-sen technologies that can to prevent the machine from falling down stairs or hitting furniture. In addition, it can identify and avoid rugs, which can be a common issue for many hybrid robot vacuums and mops.

The robot is equipped with two large tanks of water: one for clean water and the other for dirty. Before a mopping run it will automatically go to its base station and pre-soaks its pads in clean water from the tank. During the mopping run sensors notify you when it's time to swap the pads and replenish the water. It consumes 16 ounces of water, which is less water than the majority of robots.

The T10 will automatically dry the pads once you've cleaned them. This helps prevent cross-contamination. Then, it will resume its mopping work from where it stopped. This method reduces the need for hand washing by hand which is a huge plus, as it protects your hands from allergens and bacteria. This feature is unique to Narwal. The majority of robot vac/mop hybrids simply dip their mop heads in buckets of sand that is dirty.

The T10's mopping feature is powered by a motor that rotates the pad three times per second. This will allow for thorough cleaning, particularly around corners and edges. The rotating pad and two side brushes sift hair, dirt and other debris into the vacuum slots. This eliminates the dustbin and is much more eco-friendly than traditional cleaning.

You can draw a map for your area and mark specific areas to mop or sweep. You can also select the intensity of cleaning like a thorough clean that eliminates dirt and debris for a thorough job. You can also set up "no-go zones" to tell the robot not to go over area rugs or other obstacles.

Design

Performance

The Narwal Freo is an awesome robot that does a great job of cleaning hard floors. It has large water tanks that are simple to maintain and a variety mopping intensities. It also has the ability to clean up small spills and messes left on carpet. The vacuuming capabilities aren't too impressive. Its irobot vacuum cleaner power of 1,800Pa is less than that of more expensive robovacuums like the Roborock MaxV Ultra.

The Freo's smart mapping and navigation technology gives it the ability to adapt to a space and plan an efficient cleaning schedule. It makes use of simultaneous mapping and localization (SLAM) to create an outline of the area and then operates in a zigzag fashion to prevent cross-contamination, and to ensure a consistent finish. This map can be shared with the Narwal application, allowing you to alter cleaning settings or set zones that are not allowed to be used.

Once it's marked Once it's mapped, the Freo will automatically start cleaning where it stopped. The mops of the Freo are self-cleaning and return to their docks to rinse after every use. This helps save time, and keeps hands away from contact with dirt and allergens. The Freo also conserves water by using just 16 ounces of water for each mopping cycle, which is roughly what you'd get in a grande-sized coffee cup.

This robot can easily change between mopping and vacuuming and is a great choice for those who have both flooring in their homes. It has excellent sweeping abilities and is capable of cleaning up pet hair and other particles. The Freo's dual side brushes enable it to get into corners better than single-brush vacs, and its cliff-sensing and anti-collision functions assist in preventing it from getting stuck on stairs or running into furniture.

While it's a good vacuum/mop combination, the Narwal T10 is pricier than the majority of its competitors. Its huge base station house to two 1.3 gallon tanks, which require frequent refills. This can be frustrating particularly if your robot has tanks that fill up faster. The application is also messy and frustrating and doesn't have the kind of customization features that you'd expect from more expensive robot vacuum for stairs.

App

The Narwal robot vacuum and mop is unique amongst all the other robovacs available. The T10 is a self-cleaning device that was created from the ground-up. The T10's auto-cleaning feature is also impressive. It will regularly return to its docking station to clean and resoak all of its mopping pads. The system for cleaning pads stops the mop from being submerged in dirty water, and keeps it germ-free between mopping sessions.

The narwal mops are also constructed with a unique triangular shape which covers a larger area and allows for a better clean in corners and tight spaces. The dual side brushes also assist in trapping dirt and hair and remove it from the floor before it could clog your vacuum or drain the battery.

In contrast to other robotic vacuums that are available, the Narwal does not come with a powerful beater bar that can dislodge dirt and other debris that has accumulated in carpets.
