If you want to change the floor's levels or define no-go areas, you'll need to manually reset the map.

The IQ's application has advanced mapping and automation capabilities however, it's not able to access no-go zones that are available on iRobot models. Its smart-pathing navigational system gives you superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, but it is prone to get caught up on rug tassels. Its iHome speaker lets you control the robot with voice commands.

In our tests, we discovered that the IQ was able to handle pet hair effectively. It was able to eliminate lots of debris on floors that were unfinished and a decent amount on medium-pile rug. It was a little less effective on shag carpets where it struggled to reach dirt and dust buried in the fibers. It was able to maneuver chair legs, small spaces, and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a bit slower on flooring that was not fully covered but it was able to recover speed and was more efficient than the other robots we tested.

The IQ is a better choice than the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a bigger dust bin, lasts longer on a charge and does a better job of maneuvering itself over obstacles. It also comes with a mopping attachment that can tackle sticky mess. The iRobot, however, is better built and has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement and has lower ongoing costs, and can even create virtual no-go zones with its companion application. It is able to continue cleaning from the point it started, even if its battery runs out before it has finished. The iRobot can be controlled by voice, which is a huge benefit for many users.

The RoboVac 11S robotic vacuum isn't among the most features-rich models, but it offers powerful cleaning power at affordable prices.
