Anti-Hijack

It is designed to stop thieves from putting in keys or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive off. Ghost connects to your CAN data network, and utilizes the buttons within your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console as well as door panels) to create a unique push sequence which must be entered before the engine can be started.

This will activate the anti-hijack feature and once active, any attempt to start the engine will be immediately stopped. The system will sharpen the horn and flash the indicators. It will also stop the vehicle if the code is not found. The Anti-Hijack feature can be removed by entering your push sequence or by enabling service mode, which allows your car to start and drive without having to enter your PIN.

If you own an GPS device linked up to your BMW it can be used to turn off the Anti-Hijack feature so you can still use the navigation system in your car whilst the vehicle is parked and unsupervised. If you own a smartphone, you can also link it up to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack function and other functions.

We can connect your Ghost device to your mobile application for remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This can be useful when a valet or mechanic has to start your car, but you are else. The system allows you to start your car by selecting drive and then exit the service mode without the need to use your key fobs. You can also view your vehicle in real-time on a map displayed on your smartphone, perfect for tracking your car whilst in motion.

The Ghost can be installed under the dashboard, or in the centre console. It is completely hidden and tamper-proof. It doesn't require any additional wiring. The device is connected to the vehicle's CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personalised PIN code is inserted into it. The pin code has to be chosen before the vehicle starts. This stops thieves from gaining access to the system with an unauthorized clone or replacement ECU.

If the vehicle is being taken away, the Ghost will go into service mode and disable all functions unless you have the PIN number or use the mobile application to disable it.
