However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to getting stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also extremely quiet and can be used when you're at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks more like a regular Roomba model than the bulky models of the rivals. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).

It's also the sole robot vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant.
