Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our tests on floors that are bare They're also particularly adept in removing pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't come with cameras that let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a good value, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you want to save money. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it while you're at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30.
