Easy to install

The original cover needs to be removed before the replacement cover can be put in place.

After you have removed the cover After removing the cover, you can make use of a flathead tool to remove the four major attachment clips from the driver side of fob assembly. They are marked with red on the image below. Also note the locating tab slots, which are yellow, that need to be disconnected also.

After removing the battery replace it with a new CR2032 3 Volt coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should be facing the fob's opening, and the "side that is "-" side should be facing the buttons made of rubber.

Reattach the passenger side mirror cover by aligning the locating tabs. After you've done this, place the fob for the driver side back in your vehicle and test it by pressing the push button on the front of the car key. If everything is working as it should, the parking lights should be turned on and the doors will automatically close.

Easy to remove

The key fob comes with an internal microchip that is used to communicate with the Body Control Module (BCM). When you insert your Fiat key it presses a button on the ignition switch. This is used to remind you of the "key-inignition". The BCM will then read the transponder on the key fob to verify that it's valid.
